Shocked at how much you pay for Auto Insurance? You might not fit your insurance company.

I hear it all of the time.  I have been with XYZ Insurance for 20 plus years and they take care of me. My parents started with them.  They took care of me with a claim.  My agent looks out for me. I am loyal to them.  The list goes on and on.  The price goes up and up.

Loyalty is a great thing and I am as loyal as they come, but staying with your insurance company out of loyalty may be one of the most expensive decisions you ever make.  Believe me, they are not loyal to you.  You may have the greatest agent since sliced bread and you have had some claims that were taken care of, however the price that they charge you does not represent loyalty.  A few companies give discounts that are based on the length of time you have been with them.  That is great, but is it enough of a discount to make the price competitive? 

Is your insurance company the right fit for you?  What I am saying is that different companies have different niches or markets that they have competitive prices for.  Rarely does a company offer great prices for 18 year olds up to 100.  The company that is competitive in Downtown Detroit is not likely to be the best fit for the customer in Rochester or Romeo.  Have you ever purchased a new car and were surprised with the price change?  Your dream car that you assumed would come with a huge price increase actually brought your premium down.  You decided to go with a more practical car this time that costs a lot less than you last car and the price sky rockets.  The reason behind the price changes may not even be the same from one company to the other.
